You might have guessed.. But we had an absolute ball on our first night on the boat. After having already done a Virgin Voyages cruise, we knew we would be in for a treat and were already excited to be back on board. But honestly what we did with our first night went so far above our expectations we would do it over and over.
First things first, I want to talk a little bit about how activities work on the boat. As I’m sure you can imagine Virgin put on a whole bunch of festivities for their sailors on board. Some are free to attend, and sometimes they even give you a cheeky glass of bubbly. However, some are paid events, and these are really worth looking into, watch this space for more paid event reviews!
Fancy a Pub Crawl on the high seas?

If you’re setting sail with Virgin Voyages and looking for a fun way to kick off your trip, the Grog Walk is the perfect mix of fun, cocktails, meeting new people and having a laugh doing all of the above! For just $45 per sailor you’re treated to 4 signature cocktails spread across some of the ship’s best bars, making it not just a night out but a fantastic value too. Considering cocktails usually go for $13-15 each, 4 for $45 is definitely saving a few pennies.
The Grog Walk takes you on a lively tour through 4 very different bars onboard, each with its own unique vibe:
- The Loose Cannon: First up, you’ll find yourself at this quirky little gem of a bar. With its jukebox blaring your favorite tunes, it’s a place where the fun begins. Choose your music, grab your cocktail, and let the good times roll.
- Draught Haus: Next, it’s on to Draught Haus, a haven for beer lovers. Whether you’re a craft beer connoisseur or just like a well poured pint, there’s something here for everyone. The vibe is chill and laid-back—perfect for striking up conversations with fellow sailors.
- Sip: Then, it’s time to get a little fancy at Sip, the champagne bar. This spot oozes elegance, with signature cocktails that are as sophisticated as the setting. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a chic Parisian lounge.
- The Aquatic Club: The grand finale is at The Aquatic Club, an outdoor bar that’s all about fun and freedom. When we were there, the PJ party was in full swing, with lots of dancing, great music, and good vibes all around. It’s the perfect spot to wind down—or wind up, depending on your mood!
Now we know about the bars, let’s talk about why you should do the Grog Walk on your next Virgin cruise. First off, it’s not just about the drinks and the bars. It’s a social experience designed to bring sailors together and create friendships that ultimately could make your voyage even more unforgettable. At each bar, you’re given a “task” that encourages you to chat with your fellow pub crawlers. Whether it’s to find out who is talented at what, or simply to tell someone you like the shirt they’re wearing, by the end of the night, we’d made some awesome friends, and we’re already planning more onboard activities with them.
We love PJs!

Let’s face it, as much as it’s lovely to be dressed up and feel a Million Dollars, your pajamas are way more comfortable, and sometimes way more fun too! That’s why this party absolutely had our heart. Whether you’re there to strut your stuff and dance the night away, or just soak in the atmosphere, the PJ Party has something for everyone.
First off, let’s talk about the PJs. The variety was unreal! From classic silk sets and onesies to wild and whimsical costumes, everyone brought their A-game. Some of the entertainment crew even came out dancing to “Who let the dogs out”… bet you can’t guess what they were dressed as… Speaking of standout outfits, I went in my Percy Pig pajamas—an absolute hit if I do say so myself! I got tons of compliments, and let’s be real, who doesn’t love Percy Pigs? (If you know, you know.)

The music and dancing were on point all night long. The DJ kept the beats flowing, and the dance floor was packed from start to finish. Whether you were busting out your best moves or just grooving along, the energy was infectious. It was the kind of night where you could forget everything else and just have an absolute blast.
One of the highlights of the night was a Best PJ Competition. Whilst, the competition wasn’t exactly fierce and no one actually “entered” the competition it was a pretty fun way to see some of the “nominees”. I know what you’re all thinking, but no I didn’t take home the prize. I’m shocked as well, especially after all the love my Percy’s received! But honestly, the whole experience was so much fun that I couldn’t be disappointed.
Honestly, the PJ Party is a must-do for anyone looking to be a little bit mad and have a night filled with fun, questionable fashion choices, and fantastic vibes. I guarantee you’ll leave with some great memories, new friends, and maybe a few compliments on your PJs!
