INNSiDE by Meliá you’ve done it again
If you’ve been here before, you may have read that we had short stays at the INNSiDE by Meliá (Barcelona Airport) and Meliá Level Sky in central Barcelona and we enjoyed our stays at both for different reasons. If you haven’t already, check out our reviews here [Insert Link].
Well what can I say.. this INNSiDE by Meliá has very much followed the same pattern. Conveniently located in central Palma De Mallorca and only around 20 minutes from Palma Airport, INNSiDE by Meliá had already ticked many of our boxes when it comes to destination hotels. It was fast to get to, is well situated to make the most of the city and what it has to offer, and of course we’ve already had positive experiences from two of its sister hotels.

Checking in..
What a breeze it was! We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by 3 extremely polite and delightful reception staff all helping guests check in and out quickly and efficiently. I would imagine we got a little lucky here by having 3 staff to choose from here as there was no queue, nonetheless we were through the doors and in our room within no time.
Our Room & Facilities
At this point I feel like Meliá Hotels have really become a home away from home. The pillows are amazing (Meliá Barcelona are currently winning but only by a hair), beds are great and room facilities are exactly what you expect for the price point. We received plenty of complimentary drinks including fruit juice, beers, sparkling and still water that were replaced every day by the cleaning staff. Top trick time – we hid any we didn’t drink and built up quite the stash we could enjoy after finishing work, yep that’s right we worked during our stay.. Definitely one of the benefits of remote working!
In addition to the complimentary drinks we also had our coffee pods refilled every day, and surprisingly they were super nice! Only thing I’d say here is the cleaning staff didn’t always replace sweeteners, but this is really easy to get either downstairs or from the cleaning staff around the hotel. We found the staff to be more than helpful with giving more sweetener, coffee, milk etc. Just make sure to look up the spanish words as miming what sweetener is really hard (as we found out).
We also had a lovely balcony that we used more than any we’ve ever used in the past. It was lovely to either sit out during the day and do some work, or have a drink or two in the evening. Additionally we had a fabulous air con unit and the usual room safe, TV, fridge for the complimentary drinks (and anything else we bought outside the room). If I had to knit pick one thing it would be that the bathroom area could do with a bathful electrical plug. My electric toothbrush had to change to manual half way through our stay.
Hotel Facilities

For us the only facilities around the hotel we used were the lounge area downstairs, the pool and the gym. All of which were great. The lounge downstairs generally had enough happening to not be boring but not too much happening to ever be considered loud or rowdy. The pool and sun lounge outside was very similar. As a family hotel there were a few children shouting from time to time but generally they were around the kids pool and the odd shouts and screams here and there didn’t detract from the overall experience. The gym was a place I wished I had used more! I’d love to tell you I used it everyday but I can’t, however I can tell you that that was due to my own laziness and not the actual gym. From what I saw when I explored it looked like a perfectly capable hotel gym. No barbells but I’ve not yet found a hotel gym with them so I definitely can’t mark them down for it!
Oh and it’s also worth noting that the wifi was super stable for work calls in case you work remotely and need to video call during your stay.
Food

We had breakfast included within our stay as part of the Meliá loyalty program which we did enjoy. They had a huge selection of food you could indulge in for breakfast. From pastries, to bacon and eggs, serrano ham and cheese boards, honey right from the honeycomb and for those wanting a little buzz with their breakfast (see what I did there!?) bottles of cava were available. All in all breakfast was absolutely incredible, and the sheer selection was probably one of the best I’ve ever seen in a hotel of this calibre.
Final Verdict
It will probably come as no shock to you that we really love this hotel. We got a great deal for the price and if we ever decide to come back to Palma it’s extremely likely that we’ll stay here again. It’s comfy, well equipped, and exactly what we’ve come to expect from the Meliá brand of Hotels and Resorts. But hey don’t take our word it, come and check it out yourself!
